Default Headunits

Lads,

So my CSL has no options, and at some point the previous owner had put in a Clarion headunit. During the whole time I have owned the car it annoyed me cos it looks crap..

So Im considering changing it for a OEM Business CD player, but there seems an awfy money in them so Im wondering if anyone has put a decent / classy looking headunit in replacement.

Thanks

I think Glendog removed his, but I can't be 100% sure. There must be some 'lying about' out there as loads have been turned into Track Cars. Steve Gill? Duncan R? Thorney? As far I can remember Bryce, the wiring and speakers and everything is there for it, is that true enough?

Hope things are well with you mate,
Baz

Theres a couple on ebay but theyre stupid money really for an old (and probably not so good) unit.

Ive fired up a thread in the Wanted section, but still open to suggestions on decent looking aftermarket unit.

Things are well thanks, working away and trying to use the car when I can - just had a new alternator fitted - can I still claim its an 'orignal' CSL?!

Hope alls well your end

I bought an excellent condition CD headunit for my old E46 for £100 on eBay a year or two ago - which doesn't seem excessive ? There's really nothing else out there that looks OEM that I've seen.

If you can be arsed waiting around for one, just keep searching on eBay and you'll get one for a decent price in the end. There's usually quite a few for sale, although at the moment, as you said, there's only a couple and they do look expensive as I think they're from dealers.
