CSL Parts Values?
Just wondered if anyone could give me a bit of advice on what the CSL parts I have are actually going to be worth second hand? I know what there worth to the Americans, I just wondered if parts were fetching similar figures over here.
If I break the car the part I'll have are; - Engine / ECU / Wiring + Parts - Airbox - Seats / Door Cards / Centre Console - Roof (If it comes off in one piece) - Tail Gate (Silver Grey) - Sill Plates - Side Vents - Alacantara Handbook And then some general parts like wheels, wishbones, rear suspension, brakes, etc... Any help on their valuation is much apreciated I need to work out if I should just break the car and move onto another, or attempt a rebuild. |

You forgot diff, gearbox, steering wheel, dash, etc, tbh if you are in the game break it, if you are not sell it as is and cut your losses. Trust me sending things to america will be hard hard work, Ive broken cars unless you have the ramp, space, time and lots more time, dont bother. We could give estimates but they are only that and you may not get the estimate, it takes a while to shift everything also. There are a few people interested in your car as it is, |

Broke cars in the past and run a business that shipped internationally so all that side of things is easy, got all the tools and equipment too, the whole stripping part is a walk in the park.
It's just the values in the UK im un-certain on, know what the Americans are willing to pay for parts, and the offers I have been getting are silly... £3k!!! No chance, engine, loom, ecu and dme are worth that. A rough guide would be nice. |

Hi Shim, yeh those prices are similar to what I thought, should hopefully get the car right up in the air tomorrow and it will then be decision time. Its hard if this was a normal M3 it would already be in bits and getting sold off, but I want to be 100% certain I can't warrant a repair before I break.
You're guestimation of the end return is what I was expecting too, so I'm not living in a dream world with the values. |

no idea if i am near the mark tbh but if the specialist guys are offering you £3k all in then they obviously factoring in their labour rates to stip it quite high.....or they are chancing their luck |

Sounds like they are chancing their luck @£3k Shimmy. An experienced workshop would have that lot stripped and ready to part out within 2-3 days absolute max.
