Hey,
Does anyone have any experience in fitting a rear strut bar to their CSL? I've impulsively bought one but was wondering what the best method would be to access the rear strut mounts? Cheers.

you need to take out the rear side carpets
then fit the 2 mounting brackets for the strut bar then cut the rear carpet side pannels where the bar will fit on the strut tops. hope this helps I had 1 in my E46 M3 takes about 40min to fit. ![]() |

Cheers Mark, I will try to remove the carpet panels carefully. Do they just click out?

I had a go last night and it was awkward. Some of the clips came out easy but alot of the carpet fits in to the rear seats. I may just cut through the carpet and do it that way or speak to a BMW technician I know to see if he can help.

Ok, so I should remove the carpet by pulling out the clips with plyers?
Should I remove the mounting brackets from the bar, install these, then cut the wholes and put the bar in place? Cheers. |

Also when you have fitted the brackets, push the carpet back then cut a shape.
Down 1 side along the botton and back up the other side of the bracket, that way if you want to take the strut bar back off, the carpet wont have 2 big holes in it. ![]() |

So you're saying cut two slits on the top and bottom of where the brackets would fit through the carpet?
