Default New battery

If I wash the car with it locked no problems but if I wash the car with it unlocked it will not start. Put it on charge and it's fine.....take it my battery is shagged?

Sound like it andy.
When the car is locked all the systems go to sleep, if i leave my CSL in the garage unlocked the battery goes flat after 2 weeks. The BMW tec said this was the problem it needs to be locked

If your car goes flat while you wash it the battery need replacing.

Sounds like it Andy. I can wash my car for a couple of hours with the radio and iPod blasting away and she's start. All be it a bit sluggish, but will be fine after a wee run or a wee top up charge overnight. HTH

Yes, thought as much..thanks both. If I leave it for 2 weeks locked or unlocked it needs to be put on charge but it's only over the last month or 2 that its got worse.....Haven't bought a battery for about 10 years, are they expensive these days.

I do believe that you can use the battery out of the Mini (part number 61217567390) ... it's the same size, weight and crank amp - basically the same battery with different part number and slightly cheaper from memory.
