1 year old child in CSL

Hello all,

I'm about to start carrying my one year old son around in the CSL. Any recommendations on things to do / not to do e.g. to protect carbonfibre / seat backs etc?

Going to use a britax duo plus as I understand it fits unless anyone else has some better suggestions?

I've had my sons throw up in the back of my old 911 and also my current GTR, but never once in the CSL. I was obviously not driving fast enough.

Definitely the right thing to be careful about how you fit the kiddie seat, as the rear console in my car was damaged by the previous owner by fitting a seat that rubbed up against it. I would definitely recommend draping some kind of blanket or covering between the back seat and console and the car seat.

IIRC, I had to pass my child seat through the boot past a folded seat to get it into the back as the gap between front passenger Recaro seat and B pillar wasn't big enough!

I used to put an old sheet over the whole rear bench as well as fitting a seat protector underneath before fitting the seat!

I used the britax duo with my two boys. They both loved riding in the CSL.

As mentioned, I would recommend a sheet or towel along the rear bench. Also. take care when installing and removing the seat. I used to tilt and slide one front seat all the way forward and slide the other front seat all the way back and then baby seat can be passed through the gap between the two front seats.

I am vertically challenged but luckily the seat goes forward enough (without a booster seat or cushion) for my short arse to reach the pedals

If it were me I would take the rear seats out completely and buy a set of standard E46 Coupe seats (if able the Motorsport Alcantara version which is almost identical to the CSL seat material) and put those in place.

That rear console is getting harder and harder to find in mint condition and why go through the aggravation of needing to be careful when installing a child seat in the back?

I am sure a rear seat from a Coupe would cost bugger all from a wrecker.

Or short of all that - pull the seat bench out and take the centre console off it - much easier to use that way:
