At the time Matt I just drove around the problem but back over here things got a little worse and more lights started to pop up

When you say track not covered, is that only if something goes wrong on the track or if they know you have done track days they will not cover anything.

Yes,
Providing the car is fully serviced up then it's possible.
I renewed mine this year after 2 1/2 yrs without.
