CSL is a definate future classic. Good examples will always hold value. Look at the price you'd pay for a mint E30 M3. If your looking long term at CSL ownership I would have no concerns!!

Yep if its a minter and got good history and BM warranty I think an average mileage car (20/25K) can fetch on this market £34.5k. With decent mods APS etc £36.5K. I dont see these prices dropping, what eventually may happen is a two tiered market may appear, those cars that are in warranty/mint etc (above) and those that are out of warranty, been used for their sole purpose of track days.

Both groups will still contain a cracking car but the buyers will buy accordingly to their requirements.

my 2p Ian.

I agree with all the above.
till be interesting to see what happens with time. Eventually it'll come down purely to condition, as warranties will be of less of an issue.
As the second long term owner of my car I'm already beginning to question the value of maintaining the warranty. I've learned to drive the smg in a mechanically sympathetic fashion and I've sorted all the woes on my car. I can look at what I'd expect to replace; diff, clutch, wishbones, bushes, the odd electrical part, and I'd fit them myself so they all have a price. So now I compare that to the price of continuous warranty on a car doing low miles?
And am I that worried about the effect on the value?
I know this is a bit of a tangent thread wise.

Has anybody on here got a BMW 60000+ warranty, as that for me will defo be the end of it.
