BMWCC Insurance scheme

Hi, some may know my connections with the BMWCarClub and to give a real incentive for new members and benifit to existing members is every car clubs aim.
As we all need car insurance we have been working v.hard behind scenes to secure a deal with broker to enable us to offer a deal upon which I would like your feedback.
Essentially for the joining fee, presently £40.00, we should be able to offer an insurance package tailored to BMW owners, primarily those of us of lets say mature (over 35 ish??) age, with classics - pre 1990, MPower, Zeds etc which will save members at least the £40.00. Therefore ALL the other benifits of being a Club member ie cheaper club trackdays, discounts on tickets purchased in advance for NEC, Pistonheads, Silverstone Classic, National Festival etc etc along with the monthly top notch Straight 6 mag are FREE.
Would such a deal interest you to join the club???
What are your key factors in choosing insurance company??
Thanks for taking time to reply as your comments may well help shape any package we get to offer.
ps. there will be as expected some parameters/exclusions ie young drivers, points on licience, disqualified etc But for the majority we hope our scheme will be available.

To be quite honest with you mate I don't think that would benefit, and without sounding rude it seems tailored to suit the car club and not the buyer/policyholder.

Most on here tend to use their CSL's and I think a fair few of us are below 35 as well, myself included, 35 is a REALLY high age to ask for a classic policy, most on the market are allowed at 25yrs and above, also classic policies tend to have limited mileage allowances as well.

My current policy covers me for 5 free trackays, 4 in the UK and 1 in the EU every year, I have all modifications declared at no extra cost and I can still have a mileage limit if I want one.

In short I don't think your policy would suit people who use their cars all year round and book via many different track organisers anyway.

p.s. personally gimmick's or freebies are not attractive to me in an insurance policy, I prefer to have a decent price, good cover and a reputable insurer, who is your underwriter/insurer going to be out of interest?

I tend to agree with Dan, a lot of places will consider 25 year old's for high powered / classic insurance, so unless the saving is dramatic for 35+ then it's not worth it as you're shooting yourself in the foot and reducing the amount of business you can offer.

I look at my insurance I consider things like what they will offer me as courtesy / hire car should anything happen, how courteous they are when dealing with issues, how good they are when dealing with issues / changes, price, where the contact is, i.e. my current insurer gives me a dedicated contact should I wish to change anything or claim, who the underwriting insurer is etc, it's not always about price, its about the service behind it.

It could interest 'some' I imagine as there is a few that do all of the above but still garage their car over the winter months before digging it out in May and blasting off to Germany, Silverstone, BH and the likes. I myself recently enquired about changing mine to a 'laid up' cover but with the same policy, however 'Admiral' said they didn't do that kind of cover and couldn't in fact insure my car for anything less that FC due to it being worth more than £25K.

I'm sure there might be some interest here mate. I was a member before and sometimes miss the banter in some of the Magazines.

trackday cover included Steve is a primary requirement. CCI do it with no extra cost it seems using an Aviva road policy plus thye cover for mods pretty easily.

If you havent done a deal yet, try douing one with CCI or one offering a very similar policy and i think you could have a winner.

Take the AA MAnning and Porche Club policy as a template!
