during easters fun and games at the ring i got a dead battery which was replaced at then but the engine light stayed on from when the battery died

left the car at the airport and returned this weekend. car was ok to drive if slighty flat so assumed just needed a fault reset

ran into mattcslnut at the track day and he very kindly reset all the faults appox 8 different vanos faults he looked worried but as the car was ok to drive i wasnt!

drove the car the 532miles back to manchester and visited the garage

where the fault was soon found

a/c belt ripped to pieces
smashed the electrical connection on the vanos solenoid unit, part no 11367832057
destroying the wiring loom feding the soloenoid, part no 12517831646
ripping through the bonnet sound insulation
and denting the bonnet from the inside

been told next day on the vanos solenoid but 2-3weeks for the loom from germany!

these are the two main parts that i need

What the fook did we three do wrong? We didnt start that "Ash" stuff !...I have always been a good person, helping the old where I could and all that stuff..only the other day I was in Tescos with about £200 quids worth of stuff on the belt and an old lady behind me with just a tin of food for her only friend in the world...her cat... I said "is that all you have love?" .."yes"...she quietly replied ...so i said "well thee best fook off tut nother till then lass cos im going to be fookin ages "

Perhaps its punishment for putting that Banger up a frogs chuff years ago and lighting it... what a mess ! ...frog croaked though.

Just a thought Matt having nicked the thread and all mucker, how about some of the race prep boys maybe having the loom you need lying around? Tom Schirmer, Geoff Steele, TMS, Simpsons, not sure what they throw out, over to Daz, Steve Gill et al...just a thought, one of my more sensible ones !

Hi,

Try Kirby or Simon at C3BMW.

Always very helpful and very competitive
on all BMW prices.

Has contacts in Germany as well for sourcing
parts quicker.

Matt - assuming the parts are the same as the CSL then let me know a few weeks before Spa if not sorted, I don't think I'm taking my car so you can borrow the parts off that if you are happy to pay for labour to remove and replace. Not ideal but maybe better than not going...
