what psi for 18" slicks?

Just got my slicks fitted to the track rims, but not sure about pressure's

We ended up at around 24psi cold on Dunlop Slicks, you could start there, but Nathan is right you need to look at tyre temps across the tyre

It all depends on the width of the slicks which isn't given, the make & compound, the stiffness of the sidewalls, the weight of the car, the suspension stiffness, the geo etc etc.

32 hot is a good starting point but I really would suggest a pyrometer to tune it to what works for you with your settings.

should have said i was just looking a starting point as someone had told me u run them 4-5psi lower than road tyres, as nathan say diferent tyres, cars etc

i take it the goal is to get temp's equal across the surface of the tyre

No, the goal is to have a spread across (have heard anything from 10-15 degrees spread) with the insides the hottest, but for pressures you can get a very good idea if it is working by seeing if the middle is hotter (over inflated), or colder (under inflated) than either side.

Curly is yer man for the Michelins as that is what he used to use, I've only ever used the dunlops.
