For the last couple of years I’ve been certain it would be a no vote as every Scot I’ve spoken to here or in Scotland have had very strong & articulately put views on why Scotland should remain part of the UK, however past few weeks looking at TV coverage I’m not so sure, will be very interesting to see which way it goes.

I’ve been on the fence until I seen one interview with Alex Salmond were he said Scotland had as much right to the UK Pound as the rest of us. Well I’m sorry boys, it isn’t a cake & eat scenario, you want to be independent you look about your own currency, same goes for NHS etc. etc.

As a proud Ulster man I have a fondness for Scotland & the best thing about the place is its people but you’ll have to think with the head & not the heart.

The pound was a Scottish pound before England used it but as a country we can use any currency in the world.

Indeed you can, but you cannot set your own interest rates or print money to manage inflation or alter the appeal of your exports.

Hopefully! Think an independent Scotland would become socialist, spend too much money supplying the neds with new tracksuits, big TV's and Sky. Then once the oil revenue runs out we'll go bust and have to be bailed out by Germany (the bosses of Europe).

I'm thinking of German names for my grand children. Quite like Hans as a tribute to Hans Stuck

Have you seen what that can do to an economy?!?! I understand going all emo about it but really all risk and no reward imo. Would love to see what budget would look like with $50 oil?
