I guess when all the low milers are either driven or go beyond reasonable prices and are tucked away in the private, static collections of the elite. I would suggest sooner rather than later.

Market forces as always.

The difficulty with E9's is it's almost impossible to verify mileage due to lack of history/clock speedo changes etc, so this is why it's relatively irrelevant. Same to an extent with E30 M3's, if there is no history of the mileage when the clocks were changed to MPH it's impossible to verify the mileage. We go much more on the condition of the car, rather than what the clocks read with these classics.

Certainly the cars that we can verify the mileage for do fetch a premium, as you would expect.

I think once cars get to the point where they are being fully restored, then mileage becomes less of an issue & the premiums are paid for quality & originality of the resto but ... such a shame not to enjoy the journey of life by never driving a car , especially one that is judged & enjoyed by many because of the way it drives

I very much doubt you'll find a better car. All the "aftermarket tat" is easily removeable, and the owner has all the original parts wrapped up in cotton wool, bubble wrap and a silk sheets......

The engine sounds exactly as it did when it was first started when it rolled off the production line in Oct 2003.

And in the owner you'll not find a more genuine, enthusiastic, helpful or down to earth individual.

And to save further forum tittle tattle and conjecture, the asking price is circa £65K.

Sport Evolutions being 24 years old and given how E30s are easy to clock there seem to be quite a few 30k mileage plus examples sold by ML and Classic Heroes.

I would say when is 25-30 years old mileage is less relevant
