Papenburg is standard tarmac but they keep it wet with a tanker, or try at least. Yesterday was sunny and windy so it was tricky with conditions changing all the time as they wet the track. Hopefully there should be rain in October followed by 2 days of sunshine.

I always take a set of 18s with old road tyres, the less grip the better. The guys in the 1Ms use old winter tyres on 18s. The CSL has so much grip and not a massive amount of torque low down so any help reducing that traction is a good idea. There are no tyre changing facilities there or anywhere in Papenburg on the Sunday. As long as it's not dry and you don't go crazy the road tyres will last but better to take two rear 18s with budget tyres.

I've not quite worked out how to get 1 set of drift and 1 set of track wheels in the car. Maybe we should all chip in and find a van and man to drive all the wheels and tyres to each event? Anyone got any willing mates or a spare van?

I'm up for that as i won't fit 2 fat rear 18" wheels/tyres in the back of a 911

I know someone that might be willing to join us, not only to transport wheels, but to act as a bit of support too. I'll ask him and get an idea of price, then we can consider it. He used to support me when I competed in Time Attack a few years ago.

I'm liking the sound of all this although I would feel short changed if I didn't visit the Ring having driven all that way out there...

Sounds good.

There is nothing going on in Papenburg in the evenings so I wouldn't recommend two nights there.

I stayed here last weekend:

Free parking outside.

I'm keen for a support van for wheels and tyres.
