I’m surprised none of the longer term members didn’t know of this car,if it’s had such a big crash ,, as it’s up for sale on forum did you discover if damaged was done on a track day or a road accident, and what was the damage?? Very unfortunate for the owner

Out of interest I’m keen to understand what value people would put on this?

To clarify I am 100% not buying this car I am merely curious to understand opinions. I imagine opinions will be wildly different.

Personally I’d be at £35k and I’d be taking it straight to a specialist and getting the repair work redone, but that’s just me. However I want an uncrashed one.

Thoughts?

Difficult to say without knowing the damage to be honest and nothing specific has been detailed. But assuming everything is straight i’ have it worth more than that.

Welding work is very poor. Looks like it’s been front ended and rear quarter ended. Bumpers weren’t even adjusted properly.

Suspected none genuine bumper carrier, doors not aligned, HUGE crack in subframe. Looks like it’s been tracked a fair bit with the cracked ear seats and marks on back of both seats which look like wheels have been pulled in and out etc. It’s the fact it was front and rear end and the welding was shocking that put me off once I knew for sure.

As for bodywork - it is totally spotless... regularly detailed and has been PPFd.

Inside is spotless apart from a small crack on the plastic of the rear seats.

The car did have quite a bit of work done on it to modernise it (but this has no been removed to get it back to standard)

1) full supersprint exhaust
2) alcon brakes
3) Moton suspension (£15k cost and only CSL to have this fitted)
4) Pistons / Rockers / Head / ECU all rebuilt and remapped with the assist of George's v good friend who helped develop the Pistons on the Mclaren F1 and now works for Williams F1

The car has now been fully put to standard and so essentially has new standard brakes / suspension / exhaust / engine build & ECU

Car has only done just over 40k miles and has never been tracked.

£58,000 ono

no time wasters please xx
. Why would anybody fit brake kit, exhaust, suspension, then claim it’s never been tracked, really I mean really really

I wonder what George at Technosport has to say ?

At the moment the owner says it’s not been crashed and ‘TerribleExpert’ says it has.

The point about track mods is valid imo.

Happy to share the pictures proving my claims with anyone seriously considering buying it if required. It’s not on the guy needs calling out to come clean.

Just admit it and tell people and I bet people would still buy it. I may have bought it as a second one still for track use only had he have been honest and I could have come more prepared with people to check it over properly

A standard, genuine, unmolested and unfettled CSL in A1 condition with 40k and full service history with receipts might just scrape £60k imo.

Agree that modifications to that degree point towards track time, not an issue if the car has been maintained correctly but a concern it's claimed to never have seen the track.

The car that you're describing doesn't sound consistent with the description. I'd love to have a good look over this and compare with the numerous CSL's I've seen.

A little story- I was working at Munich's when a customer with an E46 M3 track car said he had sourced a freshly built CSL engine with bespoke ecu. Wanted big money.
I said I'd phone the owner of said engine and discuss it with him to see if it was worth buying. As soon as the guy answered the phone I recognised his voice. He clocked my voice too (I worked for his race team), and after some coaxing on my part he admitted it was the same engine we'd run in the Britcar 24hr at Silverstone a month earlier

Some people will say anything for a quick buck
