The vibration? well thats a story, I replaced a broken spring and that helped straight off, then I got the wheels balanced and it pretty much went away. I'm pretty sure it's a wheel issue as it is still there slightly, I can only feel it in sixth. My diff is f****d though, so another trip to the dealers is in the offing when I can be bothered. I keep meaning to drop by one of these days and let you see for yourself.
The gear box rattle I was worried about turned out to be the cats disintegrating and I've got new oem ones, it doesn't rattle now but it's somewhat quieter at full chat.
Still loving this car though, can't imagine ever selling it.

well I was wondering how they do it, it must be something simple as they aren't computers? Will no doubt resort to my usual practice and just blind the oncoming traffic.

There is a cover on the back of the light just remove
and push the lever across thats all

Ps on both lights

I am sure it tells you in the glove box manual

I urgently needed a warrant of fitness to get away for a weekend gaunt and not able to get a booking at my BMW agent I went for a warrant of fitness at a newly opened testing station building. I was a bit put off when the mechanic came over for the keys dressed in big boots with shinny steel toe caps and no drop sheet in hand for the seats. He slids in to my immaculate interior only to signal me over to ask how to start it, I give him the drum, telling him to keep his paws off the steering wheel and then nervously wait for the inspection to be done by this mechanic , one whom I had little confidence in. Reading an interesting Auto sport mag about the RS Audi. I look up to see him emerging from under the bonnet with a screw driver. Figuring he had adjusted the headlights to correspond with the sliding test rig, running on tracks in front of the car. I yell, "Hey don't adjust that"
"It's all on sensors" ( I had no idea if I knew what I was talking about, but disappointed someone was messing with my car when I knew he didn't know anything about the vehicle) I went on to say " when you are heavy braking at a high speed sensors lift the lights so you can still see the road" He replied " Oh yeah but they still need adjusting"
Can anyone clue me in on the function of them and how to check the correct settings etc, or should I just leave them for the next time in to BMW?

They can be ajusted but it needs done with the engine running for the ajusters to work

Thanks for posting Mark,
Does this mean that if he screwed them they would not have changed any settings? Are they on sensors and operate as I said to the mechanic?
If I was to adjust them what is the procedure or should I leave it to BMW at next service? Thanks again Rob
