Default Michelin Cup tyre replacement

Hi there, sorry if the topic is old but have a question and cannot find anywhere the answer so far.

What tyres do you guys recommend for a fast road use? I do not use the car for track anymore, but only for fast road (Apls roadtrips). Cups were simply perfect for it. Once discontinued, I ordered Cup 2 and they looked super ugly (partially due to lack or rim protection that changed the shape). Sorry for the comment, but really changes the way the whole car looks. Michelin told me that Cup 2s in that size don't have rim protection and I guess I need to beleive so. Funnily, a friend on his M4 has Cup 2s and they come with rim protection.

This year I bought Michelin PS4S. Frankly, the car feels totally unbalanced and whilst it can still be driven fast, it seem to "swim" (sorry dont have an English word) and move a lot. Not a fan at all.......again, for the purpose I need it. I dont go to the track, but then neither drive the car in normal daily conditions.

Any thoughts would be appreciated? Did anyone come across Cup 2s with rim protection in original sizes? Any Trofeo experiences in fast road condition? Any other alternatives? Many thanks.

Maybe try toyo r888r
They supposed to be far better than the old r888.
Michelin supersports are also a very good tire.

A friend recommended me the yokohama ad08r, they work on the track aswell as in the wet according to him. Unfortunately i didnt drive my csl since they were mounted.

I think i know what you mean, the PSS surely lacked in steering feel. Not sure if its better with the PS4S.

Running cup 2. No complaints in the dry, but watch out for standing water. Can't say I noticed an improvement over the original cups regarding aquaplaning.
Can't say I remember rim protectors on the original cups, but I am getting on a bit.
