If you are even contemplating detailing your would not allow any dealer/bodyshop to wash your car for you. A full correction of the paint, with correct washing technique and application of sealants/waxes can keep your car swirly free for 6 months + TBH no amount of careful washing will prevent swirls, but it reduces the intensity of them. No, serious.
I wouldn't contemplate detailing my car as I'm not American, I might contemplate cleaning it for a minute or so before realising that I can't be bothered. Mine was given a clean in August 2008 and before that it was November or December 2007. I don't see the fascination with spending hours and hours on having a clean car - There are plenty of things I'd rather be doing. Did you see that tragic VXR guy - hilarious! |

Each to the own Nathan, its one thing i got into quite heavily a few years back and even made some decent money doing so. But although i do not share your views on the bi-annual bath i have toned it down a little
And as for the VXR guy are we talking about VXR_Mark?

Dunno the guys name - he was measuring paint depth on a brand new car and quickly became a laughing stock on the interweb due to his weird obsessiveness. I mean - brand new car, surely you want to just get out there and drive it, not polish it to within an inch of it's life!
Each to their own though, in special honour of this thread I might take mine through the car wash later |

I quite enjoy detailing my cars, although at the moment I'm going for a dirty look.

Taking your motor through the swirl-o-matic eh??? I suppose on a SG the swirls are not as telling as a black one - unless your car is black then

i bought this
http://www.autogeek.net/flex-xc3401-...h-pad-kit.html and all the wolfgang products, swirl remover, polish and sealant. I'm no expert, in fact I've only used it twice, but well impressed with the results on both the cars I used it on |
