I used to work at British aerospace, where tolerances are far far smaller than in these shitty cars...... There was the official handbook way of doing things and then there was the actual way lads on the shop floor would do it....


There is always more than 1 way to skin a cat, and I think that people are missing out on the subtleties of language and getting a bit carried away on this thread......

Btw. Motor factors do these shoes for about £18 and they're a piece of piss to replace. No need to go BMW for such a simple job

Correct there are ways to skin a cat but being careful not to kill it in the process is always something to be wary about!lol

Remove carbon airbox.

Its in your face,

There is a mounting bracket underneath. accessible from under car.
Mounts from side.
Undo hydraulic pipes on top
Undo electric plugs

Not a difficult job.

Took me about 20mins to remove mine.
