Why is it you see e30 M3 race cars still racing but none of the Merceedes of the same vintage? Or are they all in Germany?

Mercedes / AMG would not support or supply non-works
cars, hence there were no 'Customer' Cars as such
as with BMW.

This not only restricted the number of Merc 190's but makes
parts almost impossible to source and obtain.

Even owners of genuine Merc 190 DTM Cars find it
impossible to get anything from AMG, which is a real shame.

As an example there were some Merc 190 DTM 'Copy Casting'
engine Blocks available via Mercedes Classics in Stuttgart
and they were 5,500 euro each, bare cast block, still requiring
finishing and you had to 'know' the right people to even
have a chance of being on the short list.

Original DTM 190 82.7mm Crank is virtually impossible to obtain.

Hi,

I should have added that there is a
Company in Germany ''ATEC'' that
specialise in the Merc 190 M102
engines.

I asked a couple of years ago for a
price for a Merc 190 16v engine
circa 300 BHP [4 pot] none DTM
parts and it was 20/25,000 euro then.

Ah, the days of big rubber and little rims, I wasn't even thought of, when that picture was taken back in the 02 Tub era.
