Default Hard cup life

Just looking for some advice on two things.

Firstly I have a set of cups which are now just not legal for the road but was wondering how many more track miles I could get out of them?

Secondly looking for a set of 18'' track wheels and would like to know what the best options are with regards price and lightness, I know Rays are great but seriously expensive, Team Dynamics also seem popular but same weight as Standard, what are other options?

Thanks in advance for any input

I thought you already had a set of Rays that came with your car?

I bought them second-hand - a little cheaper at least!

I have a set of 19'' Rays, but one very damaged For cost of a new one can get a full set of Team Dynamics! Also thinking that for trackdays 18'' is the way forward.

Those BBS are

How much for a second hand set?

I wanted to buy your Rays from Wopps when he sold the car to you but he didn't want to split.

The BBS cost me over £2k but they were in very good condition - the hubs are machined for the E46 offset match.

Love the Re30's but over £800 a wheel now! So if anybody knows of someone selling one used one please shout!

Good Wopps, has to keep it all together, has all the right toys.

Am I right in thinking with 18'' best results on track are running rears all-round? Sorry but another question, what sizes, offsets should I be looking for?

There's mixed views about running 18 or 19s for track work and indeed all rears (square set-up). Certainly you will get more life from tyres as you can rotate your wheels from front to back when they wear.

My 18s follow the BMW staggered set-up and hence the rears are wider than the front. I think in general you want to aim to keep the offsets very close to the OEM offset figures - whether by having custom made hubs or by using wheel spacers to have the desired effect.

My wheels/tyres are:

Front 18x9.5J ET+41 (265/35/18 tyre)
Rear 18x10.5J ET+28 (285/30/18 tyre)

(FYI, standard OEM 19" offsets are Front ET+44, Rear ET+27 iirc)

There's a few threads on here about 18" wheels. Here's some:
