Cheers shimmy.

Needed a cage for safety so thought I'd chuck in a few extra mods.

billy

superb

but you want to make sure you have decent cage door bars if you are going LWT door. nothing more than MSA but not Trackday bolt in cage!

Cage is MSA approved. One day might mix it up with you guys if I ever have any free time again.

Still check what you have covering the doors Billy, going form a 40kg steel door protecting you to a flimsey thin light door is a reduction is safety, you want a cage that takes lateral side impacts

Are you saying that carbon fibre is weak and not safe, these doors are made by BMW motor sport and have a oem motor sport part number, these are the same doors that are fitted to the e46 m3 gtr, I think they would of been tested and are RARE as hens teeth and cant wait to fit my ones to my road car, anyway fancy meeting up for a track day some time this year I miss your banter, Regards

John

Lovely doors, don't get me wrong,

Just do Remember a massive difference in cage designs and strengths, all MSA, but any thin skin lwt door will make side impact protection much less so do check cage quality of fitting.

Didn't matter on TD as nobody will ram you from side but if off racing it is worth thinking about

BmW motorsport do not have minimum standard MSA cages, seats, seat mounts.
