No doubt I will come to regret this !!

All the key items have been done under the comprehensive BMW warranty.

I have had it maintained and serviced to the highest standard by Elms Cambridge whilst in my care.
Probably around £7k worth of Non warranty bills as well, in addition to the thousands done under warranty.
Some of the other minor items include (this is not the exhaustive list)
- Alarm module
- Air bag recall
- Power steering pump + column
- Petrol gauge sender
- Rear exhaust section
- Latest SMG software installed
- New fuel filter
- Vanos checked by Elms

The car is currently being serviced at Elms Cambridge.
This really is an immaculate car, the engine; transmission, paint work and the interior are in superb condition.

There is a SG at Munich Legends for £41k and a SB one on Pistonheads for £39K...
I think they are all marketed around the £40K so I thought I was on the mark.

The 53k mile ML car @ £41,995 sold pretty quickly over summer (their ad just not updated), so that's a real data point.

I think the black 70k mile car at £39k only went up a week or so ago...be interesting to watch and see whether it shifts or not.

What a lovely looking car. And for me too cheap. This will shift quickly.

The ML car sold in 24hrs. They said they could shift it 5 times over

Apart from the SB car with more miles, there is nothing for sale for less than £60k (guess the modified £49k should be included).

If it's as good as you say, with meticulous history, and you don't need to move it straight away I would say you are £3-4k shy.

Supply and demand at the end of the day I think your miles away easy a £45k-£50k car to the right person.

As others have said this is somewhat underpriced
Mid £40Ks is where it should be at so long as everything stacks up and there are no hidden surprises lurking within.

My personal take to the question of what is the CSL worth ?
Is it worth £50K.. personally I don’t think so. (pls read the entire post)
I think we CSL owners really know the true value of a CSL. Most people buying these cars now will be coming from other marques, or say Standard E46 M3.
Would they value a CSL at £50k ? Well not really as they are buyers not sellers.
I bought the CSL thinking, I could just park it on the street, run it to work , do the B road drives, a track day here and there and not loose too much money..how worng was I ? My previous car history included 2 Ferrari V8s, a radicle a Lancia Integrale Evo and a couple of Porsches, (I thought I was a petrol head) and even then I knew / heard little of what the CSL was actually all about.
Sitting in the CSL in traffic was a complete waste of its use, parking it on the street with potential damage to the CF roof, the front bumper, meant it soon got garaged. Taking it on track ment it needed brakes, then cups, then potentially suspension and Diff upgrades, plus it became too valuable to start spinning and mounting the kerbs with.
So where does that leave a car, in my opinion that is as good as a Ferrari 360 Stradale and a 996 GT3.
Yes.. I have driven and tracked both of them 10 years ago
The stradale is now worth more than its retail price in 2003… cheapest being around £150k.
The CSL matches it for thrills, drama , interior ambiance.
The CSL’s issue is badge snobbery, joe blogs thinks it’s a tarted up E46
You mention 996 GT3 and people go weak at the knees, you talk about stradales and scuderias and people just nod like its God given they are worth thousands over their base models. And 1.5 Times over original list , its changing more and more as people are now understanding what its about… BUT its still below its original price.
I think the values will rise as long as the economy remains stable. It will then sit at the same level as an E30 M3 Evo.
When I compare the two cars, driven and tracked the E30 as well…
The CSL looks more aggressive, it has a lot more power, sounds a lot more animalistic, such a special place to sit… but the E30 was homologation special so it all balances out.
The CSL covers all bases you can think off,
If it’s a garage queen, keep it standard, polish and replace with New OEM parts, and you have a cracking car that is stunning to behold.
If it’s a weekend B road blasting toy, stick on an exhaust that pops and bangs on the overrun and you have a wonderful tool.
If it’s a track car, AP’s /Intrax lighten the rear, and go drift it to your hearts content.
If it had a Ferrari or Porsche badge on it it would have risen so much monetary wise by now.
I cannot think of too many cars that cover all these bases.
So to answer the question, personally I think my CSL is worth £75K today.( Would someone pay me that for it today? Probably not. ! ) They have risen by 5K per year in the last 3 years, so in another 3 years or so they will all be worth £65 -75K and rising for any car that is simply straight..
The problem is the CSL is too special a car.. hats off to those that drive it daily.. (I couldn’t) hats off to those tracking it hard, (I couldn’t) and I couldn’t have it as a garage Queen either, it not my style… (even though its still stunning to just look at)
I am sinking the money into upgrading my business equipment, and will replace the CSL with a leased modern turbo charged V8 car that can left on the streets, tracked and driven daily without out me having to park 20 miles from Sainsbury car park, leaving the house with Kleenex and water incase there is birds droppings on the CF roof, and gently going round a track in case I bin it, driving it gloves to keep the steering wheel clean, and keeping the seat covered all the time… plus not letting the doors slam when people are getting in or out.. (probably also saving me a divorce case here.. My wife thinks I have lost the plot.)

and also just to keep all the CSL owners happy, I will leave it at £39k on CSLRegister for the next few weeks and see what happens. (call it the CSL discounted price with a 10% rebate. .. If it goes on to Pistonheads or Autotrader I will put it up to £45k
