Default Timewaster!.

Theres a new member on here called scaramanga, he is a complete timewaster, my csl is for sale and without going into the details this guy has pissed me around for over a week with regards to buying the car, just to let everyone know (mods included) what this guy is about.

Does this mean we also have to look out for his little accomplice Nick Nack ??

They always seem to work in pairs.

Not good news.

It's only fair that he should be able to put his side of the story accross.

Over to you Scaramanga...!

Wow.

Scott, I'm sorry if you think I've wasted your time. As per my message I'm still interested but have to travel unexpectedly for work and will be away for just under two weeks. As I'm based quite far away and have an unpredictable work schedule, I wasn't sure exactly when i'd get to come up.

As you told me you had another buyer who wanted to view on Friday, I didn't want you to miss the sale just because of my schedule. I did offer to send up a bottle of wine as an apology as I'm not sure if my Bank transfer for the deposit was cancelled.

Yes, we've had some phone calls and some emails but I've acted in good faith throughout and haven't meant to waste your time. As I mentioned, if it wasn't for the distance (I'm based in London), I think we probably would have been able to sort something out. Think your post above is a bit harsh.

Just want to assure anyone else that I am a genuine buyer and not a time waster.

Bit of advice Scott and I'm not being funny in anyway saying it, I have sold lots and lots of cars over the years.

A sale is not final until you have cleared funds. Dont treat it as such and treat every enquiry as a dreamer as such. (no offence to scraramanger either)

After experiencing some serious fuckwits leaving deposits only to back out then demand their money back, and arranging to be in at certain times to have people view then they dont turn up etc, I just take enquiries over the phone and internet with a pinch of salt.

I would say on average I got 5 "serious enquirers" on expensive cars who turned out to disappear as such, to the 1 genuine buyer.

Its just a drawback to dealing with people I'm afraid.

Sometimes as a seller when you are in need or want of a sale you can get a bit attached and think that any enquiry is going to be a sale.
Just treat any enquiry as just that, an enquiry.

Good luck with sale of your rather nice car

Think someone may have hacked his account

Tis true though, selling a car is a nightmare. You put it up for sale because you want to sell it, i had 2 serious people look at mine, one left a small deposit then cried off the other bought it 5 days later.
