First of all great car.
I had the exhaust clamps deteriorate like yours pictured and you do need a new section, get a new clamp cut it in half and find a good welder, put the two sections together over the flange and weld them back together, good as a new one & saves buying a expensive exhaust section! Did mine when we fitted the supersprint back box and it's perfect. hope it works out

Good write up mate, despite my crappy internet connection not permitting the photos. I'd love to do a European run but from NI, it's a bit of a hike for herself as a passenger. Maybe next year together with the 10 year anniversary run...

Use the corrosion issue to get an after market solution, ;-)

Many thanks all for the kind comments and advice. Appreciated.

I think I might try a plastidip on the seats, but don't really want to be the first !

I'll post some thoughts/questions on the exhaust situation on that DIY thread.

---

I cycle to work every day, so most driving is of the 'fun' variety. I actually miss not driving the car after few days, it's almost like a drug !

The local Indy here reckons it's not worth replacing those rusted flanges unless the exhaust is actually blowing. If they need to remove the exhaust to do any work underneath, they will remove it right at the front and drop the whole system off to avoid having to disturb the rear joints.

Great to hear you are enjoying the car. Seeing her again brings back lots of cracking memories.
