Default #666 Saleen SC281 Extreme 570BHP Ultimate Handling Mustang - FOR SALE OR SWAP!

HI there

#666 Saleen SC281 Extreme 570BHP Ultimate Handling Mustang

First of all the #666 referrs to this cars build number of the production line which makes this a very special car indeed.

Also included will be private plate "S666 MUS" which referres to the build number and the fact its a Mustang.

I originally purchased this car in March 2006 and I had 18 fun months of ownership and modifying the car. After 18 months the car was sold for 34k and I got into an M3 CSL. 12 months later I missed this car so much I got her back and in the further 15 months of ownership I have had much fun and spent even more money making this car absolutely perfect and sortin the handling out, needless to say its now complete and still enjoy the car everyday. Now a further 18 months on nearly I have the bug to get into an M3 CSL again so this unique and stunning car is up for grabs. So I have owned this car twice, the first owner was the guy who imported the car, the second owner was me, the 3rd owner was a chap called Chris who owns a detailing company and is a club member and I am the 4th owner having owned this car twice.

Right about the car:-

I service the car myself regular, on average every 3000 miles (the service interval is actually 6000) as I like to look after the car and she only gets the best which is Motul 300V 5-30W oil and is only ever fed on Shell V-Power.

This car has been fully upgraded to Saleen SC281 Extreme specification. The car is running a Saleen supercharger with 3.20 pulley, has uprated 39lb injectors, colder spark plugs, uprated MAF, Saleen Extreme 2008 CAI kit, Shelby GT500 fuel pumps, intercooler and plus everything else that comes in the kit. The car however is tuned by JDM Engineering because on the stock Saleen tune they run lean which is bad and as such JDM are far better at tuning these cars and are a Saleen specialist. JDM not only stop all the leaning out but the car creates more power and most importantly more safely with perfect AFR levels right upto 6800rpm redline. On the last dyno run this car made 570BHP at the flywheel and 510Lb/FT. That is approx 485RWHP going to the back wheels.

Now this is not just one of those Mustangs that can only go fast in a straight line, I've done the whole package and have managed to bring the handling of this car upto E46/E92 M3 levels which for this kind of car is truly staggering. The car features fully adjustable Tokico suspension, uprated front and rear anti-roll bars, uprated lower and upp control arms, braces, bump steer kits, ball joints and most importantly a Saleen watts linkage which takes away the issues caused by the live axle in these cars. All of these mods also helped to reduce weight of this car considerably.

Stopping power is provided by Shelby GT500 brake kit and brake pads are Ferodo DS2500's so this car stopped amazingly well too.

Then to finish all of this off the car has had a full GEO setup by Chris Franklin from Centre of Gravity for fast road use and needless to say the end result is simply amazing, the way this car handles is unreal. Infact I am confident to say there is no better handling Mustang on UK roads other than my car and probably not one as quick as well.

The car is also supplied with two sets of wheels with good tyres. One set of wheels is the Saleen 20" Chrome wheels with good rubber and the other is a set of very lightweight Enkei 18x9.5" wheels wrapped in Toyo Proxos 285/40/18 rubber which improve acceleration, grip and handling.

This car may have 570BHP but dont think that makes this car un-usable as she is my daily driver, the car is an absolute joy to drive. In the dry you can put all that power down, in 1st gear you might struggle but 2nd gear upwards on a dry day you can just bury the throttle and due to the vast suspension upgrades and setup the power will just hook up. The car is not dangerous in the wet, just be sensible and smooth and its no different to any other RWD modern car.

If you were considering a GT500 then do not, this Saleen with accelerate faster, corner a lot more quicker and stop faster than any GT500 could ever hope to do so. This is mainly down to the fact that this car is circa 250kg lighter than a Shelby GT500 due to using a lighter ALU engine and lighter suspension components. It also features a 52/48 weight distribution which is exceptional handling balance.

Running cost on this car are very acceptable for the power levels, remember I drive her everyday and she returns generally 15-18MPG on my daily commute and this can be stretched too 28-30MPG on the motorway at sensible speeds. Tax is cheap at only £185 per year. The car cost me only £500 to insure per year, I am 30, 4yr NCB, 10,000 miles per annum and all mods declared with A-Plan.

So here are the full specifications of the car with all modifications:-

60-130mph acceleration through gears is 9.0s (An Enzo is 7s)
30-70mph is 2.75s
60-100mph is 4.2s
Weight 1550kg-1600kg
360BHP per tonne!!!!!!!

Once again this car is a sheer joy to drive, she has never let me down and I thoroughly enjoy driving her, its why I've owned the car twice afterall. Remember first of all this car is a Saleen, these are rare in the US let alone the UK. Then so much research and effort has gone into building this car and getting it spot on its probably not only the safest tuned car in the UK but is without doubt the best handling one for sure and the most communitive one. The steering, feedback from this car is truly amazing. This car has 400lb/ft of torque at 2000rpm which mean this car accelerates hard in any gear from as little as 1000rpm. The brakes are from the heavier GT500 so this car stops impressively and then with all the specially selected suspension components and the GEO setup by Chris Franklin from Centre of Gravity along with the lightweight wheels this car has far more grip and handling abilities you will ever need on UK roads and is ready to take straight to the track and embarras all the European guys in their M3s and Porsches, it really is that good!

Finally Bad points:-
- Bonnet has developed the common bubbling Mustang suffer from, too fix is £300 for re-spray or £500 for a new bonnet from Custom Exotics.
- Usual Stone chips to front apron/bonnet.

The car has been recently detailed so features swirl free paintwork and real deep shine as can be seen from pictures. There is not a single ding on the bodywork either and interior is unmarked.

The price reflects the bonnet condition and as such is an absolute bargain for this car with this specification and mods. This car is serviced, MOT'd and taxed, its ready to just enjoy.

If a potential buyer is happy to go with just one set of wheels then I am happy to reduce the price by £1000.

Price: £27995ono with both sets of wheels
OR
£26995ono with one set of wheels, you choose

Never been a huge fan of these but will say that looks stunning especially from the front. Sounds like a very well sorted car...good luck with the sale and getting into a CSL.
