The CSL noise...
So, what causes it? Is it one specific thing, or the result of a few things?

Oh, and I know it's induction-noise, but I wondered what specifically.

Its such a spine tingling sound. I cant get enough of it. I think it sounds really deep and snarly at about 3,500rpm in third gear and accelerating hard...

I will most likely be proven wrong, but it was my understanding that the 'flap' was there to regulate and indeed reduce the noise and does not add or create the noise.
As far as I am aware you can actually remove the flap if so desired, then again maybe I'm talkin sh1tee The sound is created simply by air induction resonating through the carbon airbox |

Yeah, just take it off, haven't noticed any problems with it since I did just that.
