Have to say that the Angel Eyes, eyebrows and crystals would put me right off stuff like that. Might be wrong and missing out on a bargain, but it sends out the wrong signals for me. I suppose at least most of them aren't being sold with subs in the boot anymore

Bit like this (not an M3), which seems to have been on the market for ages: http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C254699
All the talk of 500bhp, the Alpina boot and bonnet badges, the mirrors...

Rust is the main issue to look out for, high miles are not of much concern. I'd rather a high miler with load of maintenance than one that's had very little driving/maintenance over the last 20+ years
I take on board what your saying but that still looks bloody cheap

Hi,

Quote- '' I take on board what your saying but that still looks bloody cheap''

Really ?

N.A. E30 M3 are not to Euro spec.

No Getrag Dog leg Box, runs the
Overdrive box with a 4.1 LSD.
Little other alterations.
Almost same as Jap Spec.

Not the same drive as a Euro Spec Car,
and thus reflected in the asking price.

Regards,

The Gorilla.

The ebay car I've seen in the metal and is very clean, has been fairly extensively 'tuned' as well whether its putting out 280bhp however I couldn't say, but imo does appear to have afew mods too many.

The supposed 1990 car on PH is never a 1990 car, it's Lach silver which wasn't available in 1990 as a switch to Sterling Silver took place end of 1989. Probably more likely to be a 1987-88 car.

Also stage 1 'superchip' to give 240 bhp,
There's not a chip on this planet that would get 240bhp that S14.

Also, it's in Jersey, there may be VAT to pay if that was imported in the UK.

Looks like it also has had the 'council' treatment.

ETA, just ran the VIN, production date 1987-02-10.

I've not seen many in the last couple of years, other than that £14k one (which now turns out to maybe not be as nice as first thought). The options seem to be either buy a cheaper / modified one and sort it out, or head to the £18k - £22k asking price cars and see what you can knock them down by

I know someone who bought what looked a prime example a couple of years ago, everything checked out - service history, bodywork, interior, mileage, etc. Had it a couple of weeks and the S14 went pop and had to have it rebuilt. All a matter of luck to some degree, so there's nothing to say that a cheaper one won't be strong as an ox possibly. Again, as long as there's no rust

Here's a car that fascinates me (although £28k), cheaper than an SE, although won't have the cachet of one or a B6 3.5S: http://classifieds.pistonheads.com/c...version/761618

Haven't seen it in the metal but this one appears worth a look at sub £15K.

http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C327721

It's an early car but if it's solid it's worth a loook. I'd rather have a solid early 195/200 bhp car than a basket case late car at the same sort of money.

Need the last 7 of the VIN to find the exact spec.

ETA,

this car may also be worth a call to get more info re exact service history etc, although it is more than £15k.

Also more than £15K, probably a sound car,

FOR SALE – E30 M3 1988 Europamiester
The M3 European Champion: A homage to Robert Ravaglia

To commemorate Robert Ravaglia’s incredible winning streak – following the 1987 World Championship ‘Bob’ Ravaglia also won the 1988 European Touring Car Championship – BMW Motorsport GmbH built a special model series limited to 148 units and finished exclusively in Macao Blue Metallic.
All of these 148 cars built from October to November 1988 feature a catalytic converter (195bhp) and bore placards with Robert Ravaglia’s signature.

The European Champion equipment package comprised the following highlights:
• Special paintwork in Macao Blue Metallic
• Extended range of leather upholstery
• Electric window lifts
• 225/45 ZR 16 tyres on 7.5J x 16 inch 3 piece BBS split wheels
• BMW Motorsport package
• M Technic footrest
• Door entry strips bearing the M3 logo

Factory fitted optional extras include:
• Green stripe windscreen
• Sliding/vent roof, electric
• Floor mats velour
• Warning triangle
• Heated front seats
• Headlight washer system
• Cruise control (although this doesn’t work at the moment)
• On-board Computer II with remote control
• BMW Bavaria C Electronic Radio (needs repair)
• BMW Sound system
• Cassette holder
• Kleines Motorsport package

The Special European Championship car retailed in Germany at DM71,700 (€36,881.63).

The only difference versus the standard model was the complete package of European Champion features. Otherwise, the performance data, dimensions and all other specifications relevant to the M3 were the same as on the 195bhp catalyst production model coming off the production line at BMW plant Munich.

This special model was destined to become one of the most valuable and sought-after M3’s in the world. So as a lucky owner for the last 12 years I have treated her like the apple of my eye.

This particular vehicle was #22 of 148 off the production line on 27th October 1988. The time has come to say goodbye to this much loved vehicle. I have owned her since 19th August 1998 and have lovingly restored her. In 2008 I took her back to Munich, during a two week driving holiday around Europe following a complete fluid change (brakes, coolant, oils – engine, gearbox & diff).

I have replaced the scuttle plate and external A pillars, and have all rust cut out and replaced with fresh metal (front jacking points and rear wheel arches, usual spots). I have a library of photographs showing the before, during and after of this work. She has also had two new genuine front wings and a replacement sunroof. She also has a strut brace, K & N air flat filter, a super sprint de-cat centre box, G power stainless steel tail pipe and a genuine Evo II chin spoiler. Since this work has been completed all open cavities of the car have been wax-oiled and she is kept under wraps away from the elements. She has been Zymol waxed since all the work has been done (5 years ago). The only flaw is that the rear boot spoiler needs re-painting.

I have a huge catalogue of receipts and genuine main dealer history from Germany and the UK. She also took part in the re-creation of the ‘M’ photograph taken at the 2011 BMW Festival at Gaydon. The original picture was taken in Italy as part of the advertising campaign for the M3.

The car has never been on a track. I have been the sole owner of the car since she arrived in the UK. She was rolling road tested in September 2007 and produced 189bhp at the fly wheel. Not bad for a 21 year old! She currently has 192156 kilometres (119400 miles); I bought her with 153866 kilometres on the clock. That’s just 2735 kilometres each year of my ownership.

I am reluctantly letting her go in order to fund a new life in Australia. She has 11 months tax and MOT and is situated in Southampton, Hampshire.

Plenty more pictures available, please PM me if you would like to see more or have any questions.

Please no time wasters or tyre kickers, genuine car needs to go to a genuime home.

£18,500 ONO

That's a nice example and very desirable at that sort of money.
However talking of Blue:

Cheap, if you want it as a track car and not a collectors piece.
