Quite a fun "How to drift video"

For those who havent seen this before, its a vid on how to drift , in an M3 E92.
Not so sure on the "let the steering wheel spin through your hands " bit, contradicts other things i have watched, but the guy is pretty impressive all the same

The best bit is when the "Novice" has a go and sticks it up the embankment.

Thats really good, i would like to practice my drifting, anyone know where a novice can do this?

I gather there is lots of roundabouts i the milton keynes area

Failing that, wait till christmas day/boxing day, and then choose any stretch of road you like, its always like a ghost town round here at christmas

Or maybe somewhere like bedford autodrome will have something laid on??
There is oulton park but the run off aint big, and the track is pretty narrow.

Seems un natural to let go of the steering wheel

but when Tarzan Yamada drove my old IX @ the Silverstone sprint training with the Do Luck ACD controller it made sense

After all he made his name in D1 too

Oulton Park is defo the Place to learn.
Can drift at lower speeds as the grip is low, less chance of a crash
at low speeds!

You don't necessarily "let go", you let it feed itself while you have a very light grip on the wheel. You retain control but just let the car do some of the work. It's a widely used method.

It makes sense as all the steering is doing is self centering, so all you have to to is adjust the steering to wherever you want to go or compensate for an impending tank slapper if at high speed.
