Default Diff refurb?

Just been told that the bearings in my diff are buggered, that diffs are not serviceable items, and bmw will take £1700 off me for the privilege of a new one as I don't have warranty :bigotry:

So just wondering what my options are, e.g are they serviceable?

Hoping that people might be able to give a bit of an insight

Plenty of places about that rebuild diffs and transmissions
Do a bit of research in your local area.

Banging from the back (sorry not very precise!), had it check and apparently the bearings in the diff are knackered.

I read on M3cutter that Bexley Motor Sport quoted someone £500 + Vat to rebuild the diff.

Will @ Kent Transmissions gets rave reviews from the E30 M3 crowd, no personal experience, but worth a call, 01732 824618 .
