I’ve been looking at various options on bearings and rings for this motor rebuild, Looking at some by king. Full set piston rings £170 npr rings. King rod bearings £120. Mains about £160 . Also Looking at acl shells std or race bearings £120 for full sets , I think a full head gasket set was about £170. Anybody got any feedback on these parts, or used any of these.?? .... .......I’ve got most of these parts oem bar rings ,. Oem rings are so expensive so don’t want to use on this motor build, so savings oem parts for my car if ever needed.. any feedback welcome guys .

Default New rings

Pickup a full set of rings for all six pots for £170. bmw charge this for 1 set, quality wise no idea, Anyway some pictures in 100k mile cylinder, In shot both no 2nd rings. Top old ring, bottom new ring. Piston ring End gap top 1.05 worn. New piston ring Bottom 0.35 Bang on. ..bmw spec. 0.35 to 0.60 .. Old rings seem to have lost a fair bit of spring tension compared to new rings. From what I’ve worked out from measurements Mileage’s above 70k rings are on there limits of bmw spec end gap, probably no big deal Anybody used these rings before on a csl???

Default King race bearings shells

Picked up a more bits for project rebuild ,opted for king race shells over king std, bit more expensive but why not , Full set mains, full set of rod bearings , Full head gasket set, includes head gasket , also in picture is genuine bmw new head gasket,, I’ve got to say elring kit looks identical to genuine bmw,, gasket set, everything you need ...anybody tried these shells and gasket, “”””Feedback welcome good or bad”””” All parts from Lymm engine components “from stock”
