Default Aftermarket exhaust change

Hi, I am due to have a second viewing on a csl I have previously asked about. It has an aftermarket rear silencer fitted and according to the previous owners for sale post on here it is a Haywood and Scott exhaust. IF I go with this car I would want it standard. I see a few standard E46 M3 back boxes about but aren't CSL's different? Thinner gauge metal rings a bell. My question(s) are, do csl silencers come up s/h? Would a std m3 one fit anyway? Would anyone want to do a swap??!!
Cheers in advance.

They do come up for sale at places like Simpson Motorsport, who have put a lot of after market exhausts on CSLs.Or I'm sure someone on here would do a swap with you and money your way as the Haywood and Scott is a very good backbox. The stock M3 box is the same fitment and some say is the same weight as the CSLs.

Original CSL back boxes don't come up that often and are different to M3 boxes in someway or another, I do know they're stamped with CSL in green. Most of us kept our standard boxes for the very reason you're looking one, replacing when it comes to selling and punting on the after market one separately.

You should get a decent price for your H&S boxes since they fit the M3 also and a very desirable option if you ask me. I'd say buy it with the box and keep your eyes peeled for a CSL box if you really want it standard.

I like the H&S back box, in fact I am contemplating ordering one.

They are a nice sound without being too lairy, I test drove a CSL a few years back before I bought mine and that had a H&S on there and I was impressed with the sound.

Bounce that one you have pictured is the nasty dual oval tips version, they do 4 x 76mm tips which look a lot better too.

On the BMW parts system it lists the whole exhaust, so CAT section, intermediate and rear box, as CSL specific, although clearly not what the exact differences are.

I'm going to sell my std rear box at some point as I'm fed up of it being in my way in the garage...
