You are meant to prime the filter a few times by turning the ignition on and off and on again a couple of times, it would have run great from get go then.

You are brave using an angle grinder on a petrol soaked filter. LOL

Been watching the Sopranos all week


is did purge it with water and then drip dry it and then put my fireproof banaclava on!

Got them fitted no issues, except it takes a few minutes for the car to run evenly and fuel pressure to get up to even pressure I guess.


On getting home I decided to cut open the Filter (non service item) and see what it was like. aluminium construction with steel threaded end.

I cut it open with an angle grinder. Something I can't do with the regulator (it's too small) so I need to borrow someone's dremmel with metal cutting disc so I can see if the vacuum disc is broken.










Re ignition of an old post. Thought it was about time, so I did my fuel filter at the weekend, while I was in the area did the gearbox oil castrol syntrans b75w ,,I believe oem ,,, wasn’t quite as brave as shimmy cutting open the fuel filter with a angle grinder ,
