Default New Road Tax?

I can't find my V5 to confirm what tax band the CSL will be when it changes on the 1st April.

Does anyone know how much it will be for 12 months? Is it the £425 band or something similarly scandalous?!

Here's a useful article with a "Tax Band" calculator + an interesting disclaimer saying: "Please note: All cars registered between March 2001 and March 2006 that produce more than 225g/km CO2, will temporarily join Band K in 2009 and 2010."
Great emphasis on the word "temporarily". I wonder what these penny pinching bastards have in store for us for 2011.

Penalising retrospectively on the grounds of environmental benefit is an absolute joke. The cars already exist!!

I personally tread a fine line as I'm the Energy and Carbon Manager for a well known mobile phone company. The stick I get is funny at times.

However, I once worked out how far I could travel in the CSL from all the carbon I've saved in my career. I think I could comfortably go to the moon and back a few thousand times. Therefore I sleep well a night

I actually wish that manufacturers settled on an alternative technology and started focusing on building decent cars with it. As soon as that happens we can focus on enjoying cars again rather than being at the end of the whip of 'extreme' environmentalists.

We'll only have to worry about the speed issue then
