Does warranty cover 02 sensors?

Had an EML come on today, it's P0134 "02 sensor circuit no activity detected"

Most suggestions are that the sensor has gone, do BMW ever cover these under warranty? The named component cover states "engine management sensors" and I'm pretty sure the engine won't go very well if the 02 sensors aren't working...

but then I have read that they are considered a wear and tear item...

Anyone ever claimed?

Mine were replaced under warranty a few years back when my head gasket went.
