Nigel, are you sure you were looking at the same car ? or did you not notice the steering wheel, the rear console, the rear valance or the rusty bolts under the bonnet ? all of which I/we can see from the small pix in the unfinished Ad.

Is it priced accordingly.... It depends. It is worth what one is prepared to pay for it.

If shares/oil/China keep on going down then no.
If the world economy improves then yes

I am too inexperienced to know about rear splitters so I can't comment. The steering wheel is a matter for debate.

My mother could ruin her E46 seat in 6K miles as her clothes and the position of the seat were not optimal.
So the wheel could be rough from rings, or driving gloves.

But if we assume that we do not know if a CSL with 5 owners has been tracked or not then all we can go on is the mileage, history, chassis stress and paint.

I think water based paint or not there is a correlation between paint and usage.

ML can sell sand to the Arabs if they wish. Their reputation allows that, they have a world wide customer base and there is security when buying from them hence they can command more.

Who gives a monkeys if it's been on a few track days ??

Iv done a 4-5 in my Csl last being spa

And when I got it back from the dealer last month they said not one thing to even advise me on immaculate they said.
I doubt you could say the same for a sub 20k car that's sat perishing in a garage for 12 years.
When I got mine I got all hung up on ooooh don't want one that's been within 10 miles of a track, now Iv driven mine hard on a track I don't really see the point in driving it on the road !!!!
Life's to short, drive it hard through tunnels with the windows down
Balls to it !

Exactly, you are agreeing with me.

They were bought for tracking. This is the point. If we are being critical of this car because of its steering wheel because it has been driven with driving gloves then ultimately it is still lower mileage than most.

I could not care if the one I buy has 12000 or 120000 miles as long as the price is a reflection.

I think the ML car is value for money.

p.s. last time I looked my car was not perishing in its garage.

Totally Agree John

All my road miles are getting to and from Spa/Ring

UK roads are shite and dangerous if you're getting a lick on.

Do you really believe that 17K miles CSL @ £70,000 is £23,000 better than my immaculate 92K miles CSL ? How is that proportionate ?
Also if (as you later say) it's such great value for money why haven't you bought it yet ?

The market is the market

Why is it that there is a 1M for sale for 38k with 40000 miles but one for circa 60k with 10k in Pistonheads

It's the way the market values cars.

Why have I not bought it yet? Because I have a car that I don't want to use to drive to work in.

What I am looking for is something that can be used every day to drive to work in.

I missed the one on here two months ago
£39k with 62000 miles, and yes I am kicking myself.

That sold quite quickly on this forum. Yours has not
