There is no excuse for bad manners though, especially when a customer has spent £320 sounds expensive!

Sounds like a headache!

Personally I'd take the credit note, then sell it to someone on the forum, sell it with a bit of discount, you don't loose too much and someone else gains a little discount, everyone is happy(ish).

At least that way you have a bit of cash back in your pocket, they haven't won and you haven't lost all your hard earned.

Personally I think Bookatrack are one of the best track day organisers out there. I've been going on their track days since 2004 and never had a problem with them.

I know the guys who run the company well and deal with them a lot and they are always polite and do what they can to help out.

I think the offer of a credit note to use against future track day seems like a good offer as you can't make that day becuase of a change in YOUR plans. #You were obviously intending on spending that money for that track day so what does it matter if you use it in a months time instead?

I'm disappointed to have to come here to defend myself, but equally I can't sit around and let these lies you're spouting affect my companies reputation.

Firstly, you contacted us over 24 hours after the 7-day deadline. I politely pointed out that you'd missed the deadline and offered a goodwill credit note, which I was in no way obliged to do.

Your response was both arrogant and bullying (in a similar vein to this thread in fact) and I will not be bullied into issuing a refund.

As for the reason why you couldn't attend. Here's your original email :-

"Unfortunately I will be unable to attend Donington next week due to work commitments that have just arisen."

If you choose not to furnish me with the truth about why you can't attend the event then that's your choice, but don't use the sick granny to try and drum up forum support afterwards - that's pathetic.

Interestingly, your last email to me said you were going to attend on Monday after all rather than lose your money. It'll be interesting to see if you do turn up as it clearly shows where your priorities lie!

For the record, it is *incredibly* rare for us to refuse a refund or credit note - in any circumstances. A polite and appreciative approach goes a long way.

yep, defended yourself pretty well there, even managing a new 'low' in insulting customers....or maybe you see that as a new 'high'

Your short rude response led me to be in a position where I do not want to attend another one of your track days & my reasons behind not attended should not make a difference Jonny.

I was shocked at your short & rude reply considering recently I spend over a £1000 with you hiring a car and treating a friend to a track day with you at castle Combe in his Honda S2000.

I have made other family arrangements and will be getting this track day out of the way so I can enjoy my future track day experiences and not deal with book a track.

As for your companies rep' don't be so rude and arrogant and you won't get called so by me and others!

I will be there Monday so if you want to say something do it face to face.

'But don't use the sick granny to try and drum up forum support afterwards - that's pathetic'
I only hope you opened your mouth without using your head!
& to question a customers family priorities! When you havent a clue how I & my family care for my Nan so keep these comments to yourself.

Yes I told you it was because of work commitments, but you response was so arrogant I didnt feel I wanted to explain any further & wanted my money back & to see the back of BaT...

BaT;
For the avoidance of doubt, we will most definitely NOT be refunding your card.

Bat;
If you’re not happy and the credit note is no good then I will remove the credit note now as it’s clearly pointless as a goodwill gesture if there’s no goodwill generated.

Me; - Happy to loose 20% admin fee..
I consider that 20% is more than
fair & if you attend to maintain repeat customers this is not the way
to do business. Particularly considering most people who do track days
do so through word of mouth recommendation from fellow track day'ers.
( Really is that threatening)

BaT;
For the record, it is *incredibly* rare for us to refuse a refund...
(Really? are you sure...)

Am I telling you how to run your business? no just stop being rude to people that give you their hard earned money!

Will I use BaT again after Monday? NO
