turns out a brake fluid change is £69 all in ... so I've requested the work & through my local BMW dealer at Teesside too.

Not had a booking confirmed yet so we'll see what happens
Good luck with it as £69 all in sounds a lot more palatable especially for the Main Stealers.
I just hope they do the job properly and flush out all of the old fluid

Booking confirmed

They were a bit shocked when I told them the price the website quoted ...... They went away and checked and although they think the website is wrong, they have agreed to honour it

Have to drop off the car the night before for some reason ( told was a requirement for e46 m3's )

At least for the warranty I'll gave a BMW stamp in the book

My local dealer would not do APs anyway although ELMs would have done if I had brought my own fluid.

How come BMW dealers won't change the brake fluid if APs are fitted and what is the difference if you supply your own fluid?

Probably more to do with it potentially being uprated fluid, and not the normal dot 4 that BMW use. We regularly bleed with dot 5 or ATE super blue. Just depends how flexible your dealer is willing to be.

I personally think some dealers miss a trick by refusing to carry out non genuine work. Lot of money being spent elsewhere!

Very true Monkey. They (my local) said they would not do the APs as their machine was not geared to APs and ELMs did not stock any racing brake fluids.

Brake fluid is normally replaced at Inspection I or II services at least every 2 years.
However if you want to upgrade the fluid your better off going with an Indy Specialist, just bare in mind if your having a Dealer undertake an Inspection Service - it will be replaced to comply with the service schedule/requirements.

All done @ Cooper BMW Teesside

Do have to mention them , as considering the price, they did a spectacular job of looking after the car . Full health check & clean etc .... I've had my other BMW's cleaned after their service etc , but never has my car come back looking as good as the CSL did. Interior immaculate, exterior the same & even the wheels polished up & tyre dressing applied too . Was the best looking car in the carpark

service guy owns an E46M3 and I know some of the techs are members of the stockton motorclub , so all enthusiasts

Shame I'm going to have to drive it today in this wet miserable weather and ruin all that hard work

Brake fluid change is in no way linked to the other services, it's just for you low mileage garage queens that it works out that way

As I said, can't speak for other main dealers but ultimately it's your car, if you want different fluid/plugs/filters supply own oil then we'll do it
