Default Book a Track won't REFUND!

Not happy Booked a day with Book a Track July 2nd at Donny & had to cancel due to work commitments & understood that I would loose a 20% admin fee but... they have said because I was a couple of hours late sending them an email to cancel (within 7days) I will loose the whole £320 or have a credit note...!

1) I think 20% is enough to loose considering they have places still available so havent turned anyone away & really how much admin have they done!

2) Im doing Donny 31/8 and expect that's it for 2012 so I would have to wait till summer next year to use this £320 & after this I would use them again!

Their response was - 'if you dont want the credit not which is a good will gesture then we will keep the full amount'

Should have listened to the guy's that warned me of 'Book a Twat'

'For the avoidance of doubt, we will most definitely NOT be refunding your card'

I organise Trackdays in Ireland and I have to say I'm on Bookatracks side of the fence...obviously

The problem you get with giving out credit notes/refunds etc is that you get people trying to cancel due to poor weather forecast, work commitments etc

I have a no refund policy. If you book and can't make it then it's your loss, however in certain circumstances i will give the person a credit for the next trackday etc

if you booked a Ryanair flight to spain and had to cancel due to work commitments do you really think they would give you a refund? or any airline for that matter.

Honestly the credit note is a generous gesture that they are not obliged to do. I'd be happier with that rather than giving them 20% admin fee which is a total scam

Fact of the matter is 20% is a joke, what have they done for this & they have spaces available so they havent lost a thing (other than my future business)

If they had refunded minus the 20% i would have took it on the chin & booked again with them but they are bloody rude!
& the fact I was a matter of hours out of the 7days to get a refund! Not the way to run a business IMO

I was warned of their attitude! should have listened to Shimmy...

no refund is pretty common these days as Barry says, you used to be able to bail out late if the weather looked bad but times have changed

a refund is what you want but voucher is good although means you have to speak to them again

I have had problems with them before where they have given me a credit with a time limit, due to not having a car then luckily got my mates to use the credit and they gave me the cash back.

obvioulsy yours is a genuine case and this has nothing to do with you but you wouldn't believe some of the crap people have given me over the years.

A guys engine blows up and dumps oil everywhere and he starts screaming at me for a refund.

I obviouly tell him he's not getting a refund so instead he goes and tries to sell his wristband to some other idiot at a discounted rate for the afternoon session ... I should have charged him for the track closure.

Then you have the guys who do 20 laps and get a puncture and come looking for 50% back because they need money for a tyre or to get a tow truck home or what ever.

Then you have the guys who sign on a second driver to their car but instead they try get out and drive another car etc etc.

honestly, you wouldn't believe the bullshit people try and pull these days. People have no respect and everyone is looking for something for free

Not thats it's any of their business but the real reason i couldn't do it is my Nan whos 91yrs old has been in a nursing home for the past five weeks & has recovered after a small stoke & coming home to her house Monday so wanted to help/be there when she comes home.

And I am sure you get all sorts of reason's & getting messed around is never nice but im sure you are polite to your customers who are spending alot of money with you...

But I shouldn't have to tell them that & I wont I just know for the future I wont be using Book a track or recommending them to anyone

That's totally understandable and delighted your Nan is on the mend.

There is no excuse for bad manners though, especially when a customer has spent £320 sounds expensive!
