Bmw can do it but the ecu needs to be sent back to germany it costs 500euros and you need a racing licence
It was an option when new but you still needed a racing licence

Also if you have it done out with bmw they will void the warranty
I know a CSL they have done that too

I have no flap - dead easy job, motor remains in-situ. Quite a common thing that many owners do - noise all the time regardless of 'Sport' being on or not

I also had the limiter removed when i had a Stage 1 ECU tune last year by Thorney. Any good BMW specialist tuner should be able to do it.
