Time to pop out of the woodwork again, hope all are well

Loving this retirement lark but, now have more time to look around the car and see what can be done next on it!

The good news for my wallet is.......there is nothing else to be done! Yes, I know, they're never totally done when you are infested with the modifying bug but the way it is now is virtually ideal in my old eyes.

For saying it was going to be kept oem it's had what might be called a few changes.

Ph2 wheels,
KW V3 coilovers,
2 piece brake discs,
Alcantara steering wheel,
Cobra RSR seats custom made in blue,
Replica Trophy rear spoiler, originals NLA
Replica Trophy front splitter, originals NLA
Quicksilver back box, decided Orbisoud cost was extortionate,
Electrically operated fire system,
Harnesses,

As it is now it's heading towards resembling a V6 Trophy race car. Strangely though it was starting to look a little bland (as if a Clio V6 can be described as bland) and as though something was missing. Not to everyones tastes but decided to go down the route of applying one or two of the decals as applied to the Trophy cars and permanently bonded tyre lettering from the good old USA......blandness gone! I think the car is mad enough looking to carry them off.

Shortly going on a Euro trip with it, 3 days at the 'Ring, down into Switzerland to drive a couple of mountain passes, into France to the Vosges area then calling in to see the old GP set up in Reims prior to heading home. Looking forward to it.

However, there is one thing I don't like about the car..the attention it receives when it's out and about. It's nice to know that it's something different just like you will with the CSL, the difference I've found that, unless someone is into cars, the CSL sails under the radar. That's not really possible in this! Now I no longer live the life of a traveller I get the time to go to more events and meets, I just park, lock it and wander off out of the way.

Might catch one or two of you around and about...you can't miss me

I wonder if this is now due to your mods or was this the case with a stock clio v6 too? Now, don't get me wrong the clio certainly is easier to tell apart from its civil cousins than the CSL but i can't imagine that a non-car-person would notice either of them?

It was the same when the car was oem.

Even as oem it has a tremendous road presence, mainly to do with the width of it possibly? They're also fairly aggressive looking things also.

In oem mode they certainly look dated whereas I think the CSL is a timeless design. I feel the mods have taken some years off it....bit like an old bird having Botox

Note you're in Germany, if you're close (ish) to the Ring will be there evening of 04/05 until early 07/05.

Long time no see. Glad you are are alive and kicking and enjoying life.
Car looks superb.
Can't believe you are planning to take it around the ring. Does that mean you might join us at Sneterton this July?
When in the mountains make sure you make the motor bikes work hard to get by you. Lots of fun. Don't forget to take a sat nav that gives you warning of all the accident black spots. We want to keep you safe.
Have a great trip & don't forget to post a write up with pics.

All good here Pete, yourself?

You mis-read...it says going to the Ring, not on the Ring.

Even if I fancied it I wouldn't dare take it on. Body panels are NLA so not worth the risk.

Everything good thanks & touch wood cesil is still running strong.
And there was me thinking you were a changed man & taking your car on one of the most risky tracks.
Let us know if you are passing this area now you have all that time on your hands.
