Just about to start another labour of love. New disc's for one, measurement just worn down to min thickness.. rear 18. 5 mm /min18.4. --- Front worn to 24.8. Min 26.4mm,so slightly over min, original disc's 68000 miles no track use, 14 year old disc, in my book that's a big thumbs up to BMW, ?? What do you guys that do track day get from a set of disc's N pads

Thats a impressive mileage Chad.

Regarding your question on whats good depends, as always, on your goals and budget.

I am a track novice so i didnt want to spend 6000€ on AP brakes. So i went for uprated pads (Pagid RS29) and stainless steel brake lines and better brake fluid. ANd i have to say that it works very good. No brake fading even though i braked them cooking hot, to the point where my calipers are now golden
Sure you dont get the stopping power of the APs but that is to be expected.

Oh forgot, the pagid pads combined with the stock calipers are noisy as f*ck... but for a weekend toy its absolutely fine.
