Default The Mary Celeste

what's happened chaps?

This place is a ghost ship

I know a lot of people are afraid to even look at there cars let alone drive them and don't even mention the word "Trackday" but is that it?

is the CSL now relegated to garage queen sat on a dusty shelf for someone else to enjoy when you are to old or dead.

come on lets see some images of people thrashing these cars the way they love to be driven!

when you lay on your death bed many years from now you will not say

I wish I had driven my CSL less"

so get out there and put some miles on the old girl, show up some of these smug Pork owners.

cheers

To be fair, it's also winter. Even my mega-mile car is safely tucked away while the roads are covered in salt and all sorts.

I did take it for a cheeky McDonald's the other day though, just to clean up the brakes and make sure the tyres aren't flat spotted...

Do we all have to be a track day heroes,to be a csl owner ?? If you “”really “”use csl to its full potential, chances are you will eventually bin it , I’m guessing most are playing track day heroes, 80 percent of it’s potential only. Total bollocks what they were made for.

I'm wondering how many CSLs haven't been to the 'ring. This was October.

I'm unsure about track days, I've done one in my M Roadster at Brands Hatch with instruction and to be honest it didn't float my boat.

I consider myself a capable driver but does that mean I'm a 'track day driver' or would I just be going faster and hanging on for dear life ?

Just a note, the guy I bought my CSL from is an extremely capable driver and he said that the capabilities of the CSL exceeded his capabilities

I often wonder if the driver that does a few track days a year isn't just another nutter that thinks he knows it all behind the wheel (#runs for cover)

Driving the car on the limit and occasionally a smidge over (in the safe environment of a track), allows you to learn better car control and also learn how the car reacts at / or approaching the limit. In my opinion, this makes you a SAFER driver on the road, as you become more experienced in learning how the car is going to react if you ever get into a "loss of control" situation, and gives you more scope / experience to deal with that eventuality as well is gives you more warning, as the car gives you signs of impending doom that you will recognise (and hopefully not ignore) and therefore salvage the situation, where someone else might not have the skill-set to know what to do or recognise the signals that the car was about to spit them off road (as they'd never pushed their car to it's limits).

The E46 chassis is a big pussy-cat and is so predictable on the limit (especially the CSL), so I can't recommend track days enough .

CSL is a very easy car to drive and on the limit the balance is sublime.

Very little inputs required.

This is a different car I used to drive...

hi Knoxville, nice if you can bin and just buy another, possibly may do a track day in the at some point , But to date never really fancied doing one, spent years racing bikes myself then with the lad all over Uk, had all the adrenaline rushes, personally don’t do pootling about , if I won’t a real adrenaline rush would pull hayabusa out, better still get back on the horse, even done a dressage. Point being owning a csl isn’t all about track days, but yes csl probably at its best on track, ps maxxed csl and hayabusa.... other thing is this a csl register forum or a track day forum,
