Default Stipping a garage door

Again, didn't know where to post this (Maybe an idea to have House and Home section Mark? Or am I being sad in the head, )

Anyone any experience with stripping a Metal garage door back to the metal? I know of the 'Paint Remover' you get from B&Q etc. but was wondering if anyone had gone down the heatgun and scraper method? Mine is looking a bit rough and wanting to give it a once over next time I am home.

Sorry to bore you with house'y stuff but they wouldn't let me post anything in the DIY section on the 'Other' Forum? I'm obviously not 'Special' enough!

Thanks in advance people!

I got the same when trying to advertise my old brakes in the 'trading post' section - bunch of twats!

Regarding the door - just paint over the top - it'll be 'reet!

Na, its proper flaking off at the bottom. Would rather take it back to the metal and do it all again.

It used to be brown, then red and now cream, in most places. Door is probably twice the weight with all that paint.

Had seen that Mark and think thats the road I'm going to go down. Seems the easiest and tidiest way to be fair. Just wondering if anyone else had done their own. But judging by the amount of money knocking about on this Forum, everybody else just buys a new garage when their door starts flaking a wee bit!
