Default BMW warranty and BMW backed warranty?

Anyone had experience of the BMW backed warranty? How different is it from the BMW factroy warranty?

I am not too sure TBH. When I spoke to the car dealer he said look it up on the internet but a lot of 3rd party companies seem to advertise this.

Just wondering if it covers the car like the factory warranty does. Do you just take the car to an approved BMW dealer?

Not heard of "BMW backed warranty" I'm afraid. Aware of the factory and extended and AUC BMW offerings, but not this.

I think that Jaws is referring to the BMW extended warranty (as supplied by Mondial insurance).

Jaws, it is very similar to the AUC (Approved Used Car) BMW Warranty. The major difference is that you can choose the level of cover and the size of the excess (£0, £100 or £250). Your car will have to be serviced at a BMW dealer though.

Don't waste your time with the offerings from the likes of Warranty Direct etc.

There is a used car dealer advertising his cars as having 'Extended Warranty' which is misleading as its not BMW, its 3rd party.

Is this what you mean Jaw?

The used car dealer just advertises it as "bmw backed warranty". But as you say GT TWO I'm pretty sure its 3rd party.

On another note, did you view any other cars apart from the one you bought from Leeds GT TWO?

Yes Wimbledon Carraige Co and Hexagon.

I was going to look at BHP which has cars in 'EXTENDED WARRANTY' but thought that their play on wording was a bit cheeky.

I spoke with Alexander David and Nick Johnson but wanted a car in 'BMW' warranty in the end.

Good luck with your search!
