Default DIY brake fluid change

Lady and Gents

any pitfalls in DIY brake fluid bleed?

Got my Litre of Castrol SRF

General consensus is to syphon the reservoir with a syringe to remove 75% of old fluid and minimise contamination of the new stuff.

Are they're any tips re:

ignition on/off
am I going to light up the dash with a hundred warning lights etc after the fluid change.

Any advice welcome except anything about not eating yellow snow!!!!
