I've already had the beast noise tested so I'd love to see them try & pull that one

Looks like an early finish for him then, are they raising the noise level for our day or will you be extra careful

I'm a completely disinterested party in all this not knowing either SY or Bookatrack, but based on what I've seen here, it's not clear to me what BaT have done wrong.

You were late cancelling, they offered you a credit note, which you declined.

You then carried on trying to get a refund, and they told you clearly it was a credit note or nothing.

So what else were you expecting exactly ? If they wouldn't refund you within their T&Cs that'd be another matter, but it's you who's outside the agreed T&Cs, and they've offered goodwill which you've declined...

Don't listen to 'em all Sy, as long as you short shift all the way round you'll be fine. You could even submit your mpg reading to eco trackday competition

I asked for a refund and was greeted with such arrogance and rudeness I didn't want a credit note because I didnt want to deal with BaT again!

I'm sure if you have dealings with them you will understand. Pistonheads thread all about this dude!

Anyway I'm doing the track day and won't have to deal with then again

You will not fail a 98db driveby absolutely smashing it round.

Shall we let the public decide on that?

----------

SY:Unfortunately I will be unable to attend Donington next week due to work commitments that have just arisen. I understand there will be a 20% admin charge, could you please refund the remainder onto the card I paid with

BaT:Unfortunately the notice period for a refund is 7 days. However, as a goodwill gesture I will issue a credit note less the admin fee to your BaT account which will be valid for 12 months from today.

SY: The website states 7 days & I sent you the email within 7 days. A credit note is no good to be & I would like & expect a refund minus the 20% admin which is im not 100% happy about but i will take it on the chin.

BaT:7 days before the date of the event would have been midnight on Sunday night, or absolute worst case 9am on Monday morning. If you’re not happy and the credit note is no good then I will remove the credit note now as it’s clearly pointless as a goodwill gesture if there’s no goodwill generated.

SY: Would you not consider this petty? I consider that 20% is more than fair & if you attend to maintain repeat customers this is not the way to do business. Particularly considering most people who do track days do so through word of mouth recommendation from fellow track day'ers. I hope you will refund the amount minus 20% but will be very disappointed if not & will look into taking the matter further & of course never use book a track again.

BaT:The fact that the credit note is no good to you tells me that you have no intention of doing another BaT day in the next 12 months. I’m sorry it’s come to this but I don't respond well to threats and your responses thus far have been both arrogant and unreasonable.

SY: I find your response both Arrogant & unreasonable. I have not threatened anything or anyone just pointed out this is not the way to run a business. I will be expecting a full refund before July 2nd as a good will gesture! I was planning on doing a number of events with book a track next year & have attended events with Gold track (SPA) & opentrack (DONNY) this year & Castle combe with you hiring a car for the day! If you do not intend to refund this amount minus the 20% ADMIN fee please let me know

BaT:At least we're on the same wavelength then Simon. For the avoidance of doubt, we will most definitely NOT be refunding your card.

------------------------

I think you'll agree that, when viewed in context, it was Simon who approached this conversation with entirely the wrong attitude.
