Smile Newbie

Hey guys,

You all seem like a good bunch!

I'm from the Cutters (not sure if their name is allowed to be uttered here..) and I thought I'd join as, although I currently drive an M3, I'd love to get a CSL and dedicate it to the track.

Here's a good 'un of my car

It's an SMG with a few subtle engine mods to keep it ahead of the Cayman S lol. It's nearing 126k miles and all the servicing and upkeep is done myself (unless it involves welding), and my aim is to get it to 150k, then upgrade to a CSL!

I'm based in Surrey, so am looking forward to meeting some of you guys, and possibly even track with a few!

Cheers
Dave (M3Laith)

Just to add, I'll be going on a big road trip this summer to Spa, 'ring, Stelvio and St. Bernard passes! If anyone's heading up to the ring in a big group, I'd love to time it right with you guys..

I also recommend the St. Bernard pass. It came in handy in scaring the other half :muttley:

My mrs would go mad if I hung her from the rear view mirror like that!

Hopefully end of June / early July. Probably en route to the 'ring.

I do try! I'm having trouble replacing a steering coupling joint at the moment - driving me up the wall as to how it's wedged into the tightest space possible and tightened with the smallest loctite-sprayed bolts And my AP rear N/S caliper is vibrating a bit..

One thing that does keep my SMG going is doing the recalibrations every week or so, stops that judder and slur.

Only things I have outstanding right now is a suspension rebuild, vanos rebuild (to prevent the worst!) and to fix up a few tiny spots of rust from where one of the previous 9 owners decided not to clean under the arches..

Hello and welcome,
I don't post much but there's a lot of very knowledgable people on here.
I was reading you post about SMG calibration a little while ago, seems to make perfect sense so I think I might send an order soon :-)
