Default SMG Clutch Slip

Firstly Happy new all!

Quick question, is it usual to get a bit of clutch slip when going hard with you foot flat to the floor on the throttle when changing up gears say, 3rd > 4th > 5th under strain? My old SMG didn't didn't do this, but it was not an CSL, and was pre software upgrade.

I wondered if its just feathering the gear change, or if there's a setting / issue.

Clutch is only 30K old, but again, don't know if they get eaten up that quickly.

cheers in advance

John

You'll probably get a lot of conflicting answers on this

Mine is prone to doing it, but it seems to improve after a while if I drive hard and don't lift at all when changing. It's been like that since I've had the car, and seems to be common to many cars.

NZ_M3 has played around with SMG diagnostics/calibration more than most, so you might look for some of his earlier posts.

Put it in S6 and it should stop doing it. If it does then you know that it has just adapted to the (slow) way you are driving it (due to the crap weather). Once the weather improves and you give it the berries again, it should re-adapt back to normal (IME).

Take it out, warm her up and spank her. Full throttle, everywhich way.

Actually, solved a fair few problems that way....
