hot hatch for under £15k?
hey guys, thought id get your opinions on this.
im working in poland about 4-6 months a year. i need to buy a car to leave out there. before any of you tell me to buy a car out there, i would but cars out there are very expensive because of polish tax. i want to spend no more than £15k. it has to be small (ie hatchback) and automatic for the missus, and be able to fit a baby seat in the back and a pram in the boot and other baby paraphernalia, and ideally comfortable for long distances (poland is a 17 hour drive). with that criteria my options are fairly limited and ive narrowed it down to the following: golf r32 mk5 5 door, mini cooper s clubman, bmw 130i 5 door. what do you lot think and any other suggestions? thanks in advance tffy |

yeah thats my first choice, love that v6. missus aint too keen on it though. she wants something with a bit more prestige. im trying to manipulate the decision with the 4wd is safer for the little one argument.
do you know what the higher mileage examples are like in terms of reliability? last thing i want is to be halfway through a 17 hr drive and to have car problems in the middle of nowhere. |

I personally can't really look beyond the R32 Golf... which reminds me.
On my back up from Galway a couple of weeks ago, a Passat R36 past me. Anyone had any experiences with these? Cracking looking motor and a good alternative to the usual RS4 etc. I was in our TDi Golf so didn't go hunting. Only ever seen one of these, rare as rocking horse poo! Anyway, yeah, R32 FTW. |
