Will also say that the interior is much nicer ...my wifes E60 Touring cabin does feel as well put to gether as the E39 and the materials used in the E39 seems better quality also. My wife had a E39 530 Sport which was a much better car then her latest one.

. My daily beeter is a '52 plate E39 525d Touring and the build quality of that is superb... better then any Mercedes of the same era. A lot of E60 just feel oppressive and drab inside, IMHO
